Gallery On Waymouth

On Wednesday evening I had the pleasure of visiting 'Gallery On Waymouth' for dinner after a spontaneous decision to go out.  The building has 3 levels, the first being the dining area, the second has a function room, and the top is a rooftop bar (with amazing cocktails!). The decor on the ground level is very lavish with dimmed lighting, beautiful artwork and a choice of benches or booths to dine in. Waymouth Street is definitely becoming a destination point for food lovers, with a host of establishments all worth visiting.

The menu was relatively small, but had delicious sounding, reasonably priced items. There is a 'small plates' sections, essentially a tapas section, with an array of items which make it difficult to not say, "I'll just have one of each".  In the end my friend and I both ordered the Pulled Pork Burger, with a serve of the Arancini Balls (filled with porcini mushrooms and shallots). The food came out quickly, and was a decent sized burger with chips. The burger was tasty and had all the right accompiaments, however we both agreed that the bun was perhaps a little old because the bread flaked alot as the burger cooled, and the pork was a little dry and not pulled enough. Having said this, it still tasted delicious, and I would definitely return to try any of their other menu items. Also worth mentioning, is the really friendly staff. We had one girl serving us for most of the night, and she was really lovely; whilst being professional, she managed to have a joke with us and made sure we were having a nice time.

I would recomment this place to anyone wanting a nice meal, with a great ambiance and staff, suitable for an intimate meal, or a relaxing catch up. Plus if you wanted a night out, you can head up to the rooftop for a few drinks. Or you could hire it out for your next function!
